Customer Background :- SwitchKart operates in the refurbished electronics / recommence space: it deals in used / pre-owned / refurbished smartphones (and other electronics), refurbishes them, and sells them via its online marketplace. SwitchKart is a “trusted place” to buy pre-loved / refurbished phones — offering devices at lower price points than brand-new equivalents.

- Existing system lacked flexibility to map item condition and refurbishment stage in a way that warehouse staff could easily interpret.
- Refurbished items moved across multiple warehouses — there was no reliable way to track their condition, storage location (warehouse, bin/sub-bin), or refurbishment stage.
- Items frequently got misplaced or misclassified, leading to inconsistent stock data, operational inefficiency, and delays.
- The business required at-a-glance visibility of an item’s condition (defective / refurbishing / ready) and precise location — something the old system could not provide.
Solution Approach (Statement of Work & Deliverables)
TuvisTech (Partner) proposed a solution using Zoho Inventory’s customization and configuration capabilities:
• Item Customization — Added a custom field “Condition Status” in the item master. Condition status values were mapped to color codes:
- Red = Bad / Defective
- Yellow = Under Refurbishment
- Green = Refurbished / Ready for Sale
• Warehouse Customization — Configured multiple warehouses, with detailed bin and sub-bin locations. This enabled precise tracking of where each item was stored.
• Workflow Automation — Implemented basic automation (where needed) to update condition status when an item moved through refurbishment stages (e.g. from “Under Refurbishment” to “Ready”).
• Reporting & Visibility — Created reports and dashboards showing stock by condition status, warehouse location, and bin/sub-bin level; enabling management and warehouse teams to monitor stock lifecycle, location, and refurbishment stage in real-time.
